Fred and Ginnie, Yuji, Dan, Bart and John Heermans (who stopped by and expressed interest in our venerable game):
** S * H * A * M * E * * O * N * * Y * O * U * !!!! **
Here, we've been having this nice turnout -- 10, 12, 16 people and the day we finally get our act together with clocks and all, everybody disappears! One week, we're talking about organizing a tournament, and suddenly we're hard pressed to get a game at all!
What's with you people? Don't you have priorities? Do you really think things like shopping, cleaning, doing repairs, family responsibilities, work, or other trivial matters should interfere with important things like Go?
It's time you gave serious consideration to your miserable existence and realize that Go is not just a game, it's a way of life! All those other things you consider relevant pale in comparison.Tell your children, spouses, friends, family, employers, and employees that they will just have to cope on their own while you go off in pursuit of the meaningful
things in life: Go!(At least, every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month.)
Okay, I'll let this one slide. But I fully expect that our next meeting on May 4th will be VERY WELL ATTENDED! You folks out there who stopped by at our tables at Barnes & Noble and seemed interested in our game need to come back and let us teach you how to play. You slackers out there who just haven't been coming (you know who you are - do I need to embarrass you by name?) must return to the fold and enjoy the benefits of good company and the comfortable sound of the stones clicking on the board.
I'll tell you what I'll do.Anyone coming to the meeting on the 4th is hereby entitled to any refreshment from the cafe, courtesy of your very generous (kind, thoughtful, and devilishly handsome) club president, me!
Hope to see mobs of you next time...
