Subject: In case you missed it...

We had a delightful game Saturday.

Of course, the ever-reliable Fred & Ginnie made the long trek from Daytona. Bart Lipofsky was there, as well as Greg Grant with his young friend, Sean Esposito. Fred spent quite a bit of the session teaching Sean who seemed to pick up the game quite readily and we hope to see him come back.

Our new Korean friend, Jake Seo, spent some time with Bart, playing, then reviewing the game.

I brought one-third of George & The Hungarians, Lajos Nagy, who played a game with Ginnie, then watched Jake teaching.

When we got there, Lee Priest was there at our table with his young grandson, Anthony, and took an interest in the game. Fred, again, did his "thing," showing them the basics and perhaps generating a spark of interest. Lee claims that he's going to try to get his whole family involved in the game and we'll see if he manages to get any of them to come along to one of our Saturday meets.

For the sake of accuracy, I must also mention that the lovely and charming Mr. Stephen Schneider also made an appearance. And it was just that: an appearance. To his credit, Steve was sick as the proverbial dog and just dropped by long enough to give me a CD with some useful stuff for our upcoming tournament. Tournament? Did he say, tournament?

Yes, indeed, folks... in just two brief weeks we will be conducting our first-ever (AGA sanctioned) club tournament! Watch this space for further information which should be coming to an e-mail box near you within the next couple of days.

Next week is Daytona and I encourage everyone to try out the new day, time, and venue. Saturday leaves football-watching time intact. Twelve o'clock until four gets you home in time for dinner. And the library is a very, very nice and comfortable place to play.
