The Space Coast Go Association

Subject: Go figger!

I think there's a message here when you call an impromptu game on an off weekend and more people show up than for the regular session of the Space Coast Area Go Association. There were 11 of us, plus 3 drop-ins!

Two of three Hungarians: Lajos & Attila; a Mad Romanian - Dan; The two docs: Jeff and Bart; Eric and his brother Thomas; Mike down from Pittsburgh, visiting St. Augustine; the elusive Jianxin Pi even came; and there was a late & brief visit by our own Mr. Stephen Schneider.

Played a lot of Go and Mike did a teaching session for newcomers Natalie Mehora and Etheena McLaughlin, who seemed to pick up on the game with frightening insight! Then, I did a quick session with Rebecca Scott who seemed very interested and wanted to take the game back to show her 3

grandchildren (get 'em young!).

All in all, it was a great session and makes me think that there may be more interest in attending when we're further south... Hmmm... I'm seriously considering dropping by our local Books A Million (shopping center at Post and Wickham) to see if they might be able to accomodate us. The Melbourne Barnes & Noble isn't really a good alternative since they're so hostile and we have to scrounge space in the cafe.I realize that moving south may be a bit inconvenient for some (like Fred & Ginnie trucking down from Daytona), but it's really only 10-15 minutes further and not very difficult to get to. In any case, nothing is firm yet and I'll let you all know how the negotiations go.

Thanks to all who came and see you next week at our regularly scheduled game.

george
